Overview

Maintainable redesigned both The Daily Climate and Environmental Health News websites to create a more flexible layout for their daily stream of environmental news. We worked with The website editors to build a good balance for presenting an abundance of information in an organized way.

The Daily Climate

The Daily climate uses a grid-based layout to give a formal structure to the page. Using a grid made it easy to accommodate a variety of story lengths and different size photographs.

Typography

Maintainable paid careful attention to the hierarchy and placement of typography on the page. We used font size and spacing to visually built a sense of time and priority for the stories.

Environmental Health News

The Daily Climate is a project of Environmental Health News (EHN). We redesigned the EHN front-page to better organize the massive amount of information presented on a daily basis.

Photography Integration

One of the most important aspects of the project was to be able to incorporate high quality photography. We worked with EHN to build a design that made it easy to include photographs to help visually communicate stories they're presenting.
